Privacy Policy

Playmania Arcade (playmaniaarcade.com) is operated by AI Canadian Solutions ("we", "us"), based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. The short version: you can play every game without an account, we collect very little, and we never sell your data. This policy also applies to the Playmania Arcade Android app (package com.playmaniaarcade) if you use it.
Games are provided by third parties
The games on Playmania Arcade are third-party HTML5 titles embedded from external game providers (such as GameDistribution and similar networks). When you play a game, that provider's own code runs inside the game frame and may set its own cookies, collect its own data, and show its own advertising, all under the provider's own privacy policy — for example the GameDistribution privacy policy. We do not control those providers and do not receive the personal data they collect. If you object to a particular provider's practices, your choice is not to play that provider's games.
What we collect
- Nothing to just play. There are no user accounts, sign-ups, or profiles. You can browse and play everything anonymously.
- Votes and likes. The "Did you like this game?" verdict and comment likes are recorded against your IP address (to allow one vote per person per game). No name or email is involved.
- Comments. If you post a comment we store the display name you type (optional — "Player" otherwise), your comment text, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and an approximate country/city derived from your IP (via the ip-api.com lookup service). Comment text is also sent to OpenAI's moderation API for automated spam/abuse screening before it appears; OpenAI processes it under its own policies and we send no other identifiers with it.
- "Share with a friend." If you use the share-a-playlist form we collect the names and email addresses you enter (yours and your friend's), an optional WhatsApp number, and the list of games — used to send your friend the playlist email (delivered via SendGrid) and kept as a record of the share. Only enter a friend's email with their knowledge.
- Playlists / favourites. Your heart-button playlist is stored in your own browser's localStorage, on your device only. It never reaches our servers unless you explicitly share it.
- Server logs. Standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) kept for a short rolling window for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). Google sets its own cookies for this under the Google privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Advertising. Playmania Arcade is ad-supported. Ads shown inside or around games are served by the game providers' advertising partners (listed in our ads.txt file, including Google and other exchanges), which may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure and personalize ads under their own policies.
- Our own cookies. We use only what is technically necessary (e.g. a session cookie and localStorage for your playlist). We do not run our own tracking profiles.
Children's privacy
Parts of Playmania Arcade (the Kids and Family sections) are suitable for children, but the site as a whole is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — no accounts exist, and children should not post comments or use the share form. If you believe a child has submitted personal information (for example in a comment or share form), email us and we will delete it promptly.
A note for parents: the games themselves are third-party content. While we curate age sections in good faith, we cannot guarantee the behaviour, ads, or data practices of third-party games, so we recommend supervising younger children while they play.
Payments (upcoming store)
If and when Playmania Arcade offers a store, payments will be processed by Stripe. Card numbers never touch our servers — Stripe collects and stores payment details under its own policy; we receive only order details and payment references needed to fulfil your purchase and meet tax law.
Who we share data with
- Third-party game providers and their ad partners — only in the sense described above: their code runs when you choose to play their games.
- Service providers — Google (analytics), OpenAI (comment moderation), ip-api.com (comment geolocation), SendGrid (share emails), and Stripe (future payments), each processing only what is described above.
- Nobody else, except if the law compels us or to protect the service from attack. We never sell or rent personal data.
How long we keep it
- Comments, votes and share records: until removed by moderation, deleted at your request, or no longer needed to run the site.
- Server and security logs: a short rolling window, then discarded.
- Future payment and tax records: up to 7 years, as Canadian tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights (PIPEDA)
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and comparable laws, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (for example, a comment you posted). Email us at the address below; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site.
